Harvest season in the La Côte vineyards
Every autumn the slopes around Etoy turn gold and russet, and the cellars of the vineyard open up for the grape harvest. A chance to discover the region with a glass in hand, minutes from the hotel.
The AFTERWORK Hotel sits in the heart of La Côte, Vaud's largest wine-growing region, stretching along Lake Geneva between Nyon and Lausanne. In autumn, the region shifts pace: machines and harvest trailers move into the rows, the presses start turning, and the neighbouring wine-growing villages — Etoy, St-Prex, Féchy, Mont-sur-Rolle — come alive with the harvest days.
What to see
Most of the region's wineries welcome visitors during this period — for a tasting, a cellar tour or simply to pick up a few bottles. The paths winding through the vines remain open to walkers and cyclists: it's the best time of year to explore them, with the lake on one side and the Jura on the other.
– Tastings and open days at nearby wineries.
– Marked vineyard trails, accessible on foot or by bike from the hotel.
From the hotel
The first wineries are just minutes away by car or bike, and our reception will happily point you to those welcoming visitors during your stay. Our bikes and shuttle service can take you there, and the Bistro pours several La Côte wines by the glass to keep the discovery going on your return.
Good to know: harvest dates depend on the weather and change every year, as do cellar opening hours. Ask us for the current programme when you arrive.
